*Job Description*: Experienced Bookkeeper
*PURPOSE OF THE POSITION*
As an integral part of our team, the bookkeeper is responsible for providing accounting services and processing accurate and useful financial information for several related businesses to the owners with honesty and integrity.
*SCOPE*
Bookkeeper has daily responsibility for performing duties related to financial statement preparation, Microsoft Word, Excel, QuickBooks accounting software, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, journal entries and other duties as requested.
The Bookkeeper reports to the administrative partners and works directly with other company team members to ensure accurate and timely paying of bills and financial reporting of companies.
Regular interaction with our CPA, vendors, customers, employees, and the government ensures accuracy and continuity of information and direction.
*RESPONSIBILITIES*
* Maintain accounting general ledger
* Prepare accounting related entries to numerous registers and journals
* Verify accounts payable activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoice creation and entry
* Complete sales tax returns, as required
* Complete bi weekly payroll and payroll tax returns, as required
* Enter, pay and verify credit card charges
* Respond to partners with accurate and timely work to facilitate their financial reporting and address their requests
* Participate in special projects
* Assist in establishing accounting guidelines, policies and work procedures, as requested
* Assist with other projects as needed
* Maintain accurate inventory
*KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES*
*Knowledge*
* Highly proficient using MS Office including Excel and Word
* Extensive knowledge of QuickBooks
* Knowledge of office machines (calculators, copier, facsimile and personal computers)
* Knowledge of Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payables procedures
* Knowledge of posting figures to automated ledgers
* Knowledge of payroll functions
* Knowledge of general accounting principles
*Education*
* High School Education
* Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Accounting not required but would be helpful
* At least three to five years of experience in accounting field
