Join our small, employee-oriented team! We are looking for a long-term partner to work remotely as a Back Office Billing Specialist.
This role is responsible for performing back-office credit related functions in support of our Utility customers.
This position will be provided with comprehensive training to prepare for this role.
Job duties and responsibilities include the following:
Software migration billing and meter review and analysis
Making corrections to billing, rates and meter readings
Calculating utility usage, including prorations
Completing payment and credit balance transfers and refunds
Investigating billing abnormalities
Investigating and resolving customer complaints
Adjusting billing parameters based on usage trends
This remote position requires a minimum of one year in a back-office, billing, accounts receivable or customer service position.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience in the Utilities industry is a plus.
Additional requirements include the following:
Knowledge of computer software/technology required by the position (Excel, Word, Outlook, video conferencing such as Teams or Zoom)
Skill in manipulating data within an Excel spreadsheet
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Ability to quickly learn and process new information
Ability to analyze information, draw conclusions and clearly communicate solutions
Ability to stay focused and attentive in a position that requires extensive computer and phone work
Ability to accurately and efficiently document transactions
Ability to work effectively within time constraints and deadlines
Ability to work independently and take responsibility for completing work in a timely manner
Ability to analyze data (records, statistics, technical information) and formulate conclusions
Ability to prioritize and organize materials and processes efficiently
Attention to detail
Basic skill in computer proficiency (e.
g.
, email, team-meeting software such as Teams or Zoom, basic word and excel)
Must be 18 or older and able to pass Drug Screening and Criminal Background Check
