Essential Functions:
Utilizes knowledge, skill, and judgment in providing direct and indirect patient care.
Participates in patient/family/staff education.
Provides safe practices in all aspects of patient care and activities.
Maintains current knowledge and standards of professional nursing practices.
Secondary Functions:
All other duties required by management.
Shift charge nurse when assigned.
Makes patient care assignments based on skill, experience, and acuity of the patient.
Directs and precepts staff as needed/assigned.
Participates in quality process improvements in department.
Specific qualifications include:
Associate’s degree in nursing (ADN) from an accredited school of nursing
Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing, preferred.
Current RN license for the State of Texas or current compact state license.
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Experience working with electronic medical records systems.
Consistent work history and longevity with previous employers.
