Department: Workforce and Public Services Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties: The instructor assures the adequate preparation of students for the Arkansas Nurse Aid Exam in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Arkansas Department of Human Services, Office of Long Term Care.
Responsibilities include preparing and administering classroom, lab and clinical training, ensuring that course objective are met, supervising additional instructors and compiling training records.
Qualifications: Be a registered nurse currently licensed in Arkansas, licensed under a compact license, or hold a multistate privilege to practice if moving from a state that has joined the Interstate Nurse Licensure Compact to Arkansas and meets all requirements for licensure in Arkansas Not be under any current disciplinary action by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing.
Disciplinary action includes, but is not limited to: probation, suspension, revocation or voluntary surrender of License due to disciplinary action Possess a minimum of two (2) years' general nursing experience as a registered nurse including at least one (1) year of long-term care nursing services in a nursing facility setting within the last five (5) years.
Nursing experience may include, but is not limited to, employment in: (a) a Nursing Assistant Education Program; (b) a long-term care facility, or the supervisor of nursing student in a long-term car facility or unit; (c) a geriatrics department (excluding geriatric psychiatry); or (d) a long-term acute care hospital (recuperative care), home care, hospice care, or other long-term care setting.
