Medical Coder/Billing Specialist

We are small medical clinic in Paris, TX that provides both neurological and interventional pain management.
We are seeking a biller/coder who is familiar with CPT coding in both these fields.
Responsibilities: - Review and analyze medical records and documentation to ensure accurate coding and billing - Assign appropriate medical codes using ICD-10 and/or ICD-9 coding systems - Verify patient insurance coverage and process claims for reimbursement - Communicate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary information for billing purposes - Follow up on unpaid claims and denials, and appeal when necessary - Stay up-to-date with changes in medical coding guidelines and regulations - Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines - Precert/Authorizations on procedures and testing Skills: - Proficiency in medical terminology, including knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes - Strong understanding of medical coding systems, such as ICD-10 and/or ICD-9 - Experience with medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems - Knowledge of medical collection processes and procedures - Attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing practices - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal - Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Note: This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
