The PNP will provide professional medical services to pediatric patients in a clinic setting.
Complete documentation of all activities must be provided.
This position will assist the Medical Director and other senior staff in developing clinical services and accessing other funding sources.
Position will follow patients in hospital that do not have an attending physician.
Hospital admissions will be limited to no more than 6 at any given time.
Position will have access to the Medical Director and other participating medical providers to confer, regarding patient treatment and other matters related to medical service.
Assigns duties to nursing staff
Provides appropriate feedback and assessment of care delivered to ensure that patients’ safety is maintained
Ensures therapeutic environment is maintained and infection controls procedures are followed
Appraises performance level of staff members
Carries out complete and periodic health evaluations of clinic specific diagnoses including medical, cognitive, and psychosocial status, as well as personal assets and shortcomings to learning
Preforms repeated assessment of patients’ reaction to teaching, discharge plan, and care provided.
Records and presents patients’ progress in relevant charts and submits observations and assessments report to all healthcare team members and patients’ families for them to gain a proper understanding of patients’ health condition, progress, and medical needs
Creates effective systems and procedures to enhance the pediatrics clinic’s operations
Regularly participates in various, relevant educational programs to ensure both technical and professional competence are maintained
Collaborates with the patients' care teams and members of their families to design and carry out plans for their care so that proper coordination of care and communication of the patients’ health progress will be maintained
Monitors clients following protocol as outlined in the standards of care
Provides medication adherence education and appropriate interventions to each client as needed
Provides medical services and works with physicians and staff to ensure medical needs are met
Assists in subcontractor selection and monitoring
Assists with programmatic development and compliance
Assists in staff development in the area of Medicine and related topics
Promotes team-building among the medical staff
Assists Medical Directors in oversight of daily clinical operations to ensure staff compliance to standards of care outcome measures and funding source requirements
Attends regular staff meetings
Develops and maintains regional resources for better client care, agency public relations, and clinical care strategies
Must adhere to all personnel policies, client rights policies, confidentiality, agency mission statement, and code of ethics
Must attend all required trainings
Other duties as assigned
Requires a valid Driver’s License, appropriate driving record, and automobile liability insurance
Current Certified Nurse Practitioner license or Physician Assistant from the state of Arkansas/Texas
Current DEA license preferred
