Ouachita County Medical Center has an opening for a Part Time Pharmacist(1-2 weekdays per week 8:00am-5:00pm/Every Third Weekend 8:00AM-5:00PM).
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree-Pharmacy required.
Doctoral Degree preferred.
CERTIFICATE, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Current Arkansas Pharmacist license required.
JOB SUMMARY: Works under general supervision in compounding and dispensing prescribed medications for patient care for all ages of patients from infant to elderly, provides pharmaceutical clinical opinion and input to physicians and clinical staff to enhance or maintain quality patient care.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:
Adheres to Ouachita County Medical Center’s Mission, Vision and Values.
Review and interpret medication orders and prescriptions to ensure that dosage, route, frequency, potential interactions, and allergies have been screened.
Provide clinical pharmacy services to hospital patients.
Medication distributive functions, including, but not limited to, preparation and/or verification of medications, labeling, compounding, and dispensing.
Drug information resource for prescribers, hospital staff, and patients.
Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance monitoring, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous medications.
Responsible for technician activities and performance.
Provides direction and guidance as needed.
Participates in the orientation, instruction and training of pharmacy students and interns, pharmacy technicians, residents, pharmacists and other health professionals.
Performs duties in documented accordance with requirements of all regulatory and governing bodies.
Mandatory education from a system and department level is completed
Attends and participates in departmental meetings / in-services, Ouachita County Medical Center quality improvement program, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.
The applicant must have strong interpersonal skills, be able to perform well individually and within group settings, have the ability to handle situations professionally and accurately, and must be able to provide care with courtesy, friendliness and respect.
