North Lamar ISD is seeking qualified candidates for the position of School Nurse's Assistant.
The appointee will report to a certified staff member and assist that certified staff member.
The appointee will be responsible for the health care needs of the students and staff and will work closely with students, parents and campus staff.
Essential Job Functions
1.
Maintains student advocacy role to assist int he protection and well-being of students.
2.
Provides emergency care to ill and injured students/employees.
3.
Assesses the management of students with acute or chronic health problems.
4.
Administers state law regarding screening, immunizations and communicable diseases.
5.
Records and maintains health information in a confidential and timely manner.
6.
Serves as a wellness resource to assist students, families and staff.
7.
Has a general understanding of medications and related effects.
8.
Possess strong assessment skills.
9.
Works well with students.
10.
Demonstrates effective communication, public relation and interpersonal skills.
11.
Has a service oriented personality.
12.
Able to perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma, the equivalent of a high school diploma, or higher education
Work experience with students preferred
Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards:
Works in standard school environment.
Stand for long durations of time.
Lift up to 25 lbs.
Perform other physical tasks as related to kitchen environment.
